- Story of the Week “Abuela” by Arthur Dorros
- Listen to the story here
- The girl and her Abuela visit many places throughout the story. Which one is your favorite? Using pg 59 in your Reading Workbook, draw your favorite scene from Abuela. Write at least one sentence about the scene you chose.
Tuesday, May 12th
- Blends
- Practice identifying both beginning and ending blends by completing the Blends Packet
- Short “E” vowel sound in words
- Practice finding the short “e” in the words in your Reading Workbook pg 58
- Short Vowel Sounds
- Practice finding the short vowel sound by completing pg 53 in your Reading Workbook

- Practice making a complete sentence with the Sentence Sequence worksheet

- Book of the week “My Lucky Day” (I know that we have already listen to this book once, so it would be great to listen to the story once and have students retell the story to you!)
- Complete Reading Workbook pgs 13-20
- Tear out and read “Lad and Me” (pgs 15 & 16) to your parents, siblings and/or pet throughout the week!
